Nobody Waiting
This one started as an accident. I was waiting for people to show up so I could photograph them, and I got bored and photographed the room instead. The room turned out to be the better picture almost every time.
What I think I was after is the residue — a chair pushed back, a door someone left open, the way a space holds the shape of whoever was just in it. A room that has been emptied recently looks different from a room that is always empty, and I spent most of a year trying to photograph that difference.
Made 2025. Black and white, natural light.
